Jackie Rothstein
Writer
Jackie brings more than 15 years of experience in publishing and design to her work as a writer and editor. She began her career at Penguin Books and Macmillan Canada where she edited a range of books including hockey great Darryl Sittler’s autobiography, an anthology of Canadian humour and a collection of short crime fiction.
After leaving Macmillan she joined the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) where she was responsible for exhibition design, graphics and catalogue production for all Gallery shows, a role that required coordinating the efforts of curators, designers, technical staff and outside suppliers. She continued this production role at Bruce Mau Design (BMD), where she managed projects for European furniture company Vitra, the Seattle Public Library, and an exhibition of the work of Mexican architect Luis Barragan.
Jackie continued her association with both the AGO and BMD on a freelance basis, editing exhibition catalogues and didactics for the AGO, and writing marketing and collateral materials for BMD clients such as Knoll, Herman Miller and the Mars Centre in Toronto. Jackie has also written publications for Queen’s University Executive MBA and Executive programs in Kingston, Ontario, pharmaceutical company GSK and Teknion furniture in Toronto.
Jackie has a B.A. in English from York University in Toronto and an M.A. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University in New York.
